It was 1994, and I was going to my very first elementary school dance. Eager to the core, I arrived a full hour ahead of time, only to realize that I had carelessly left behind the two dollars required for entry. The thought of walking the 2-mile round trip journey back home loomed over me, but as luck would have it, I spotted the DJ unloading his trailer. Inspiration struck!

Approaching him tentatively, I introduced myself, "Hello, I'm Stuart. Could you get me into the dance, if I help you with loading and unloading your equipment?"

"Absolutely," DJ Kim responded with a smile, sneaking me in as his assistant. A heartfelt shout out to DJ Kim, the embodiment of coolness.

The memories of the dance itself have faded, but the vivid recollections of him teaching me the setup process remain etched in my mind. The resonant sounds  from those 15" Peavey SP2 speakers and dual 18" subwoofer cabinets, the  pulsations of the lights, and at the heart of it all, the captivating Disco Ball – it was childhood magic.

For nearly a decade, I worked alongside DJ Kim, all around Arizona and New Mexico, immersing myself in the realm of musical events – listening to every CD I could get my hands on, to playlist memorization and numbering systems.

Fast forward to 2018, after a prolonged hiatus from the DJing scene, a magnetic pull beckoned me back. With unwavering support from my wife, family, and friends, Double A Sound was born. Initially conceived as a lighthearted endeavor with my kids, it swiftly transitioned into something more profound as I dived into cutting-edge sound systems and mixing boards in 2021. Weddings hold a special place in my heart, while corporate events also offer a thrill. Biweekly, I host Karaoke nights at a local bar.

School and church dances still grace my schedule a few times annually, and it warms my heart to see the joy on my kiddos' faces as I assume the role of their DJ Dad (a testament, perhaps, to my skills?). And of course... they help load and unload the equipment.
